The Globalisation and Enlightment
The first talk entitled The Future of Global Business Environment and Entrepreneurship by Saul Estrin was an introduction to the world of Globalisation in which he mentioned the evolving business environment, what it is and the effects it causes on emerging markets, as well as entrepreneurship and the characteristics that are associated with being an entrepreneur. The talk consisted of two very different half's, Economy and Entrepreneurship in which I found both insightful and informative as well as longwinded and boring in some areas.
The two talks gave really basic understanding of globalisation and how projection and forecasts can help us gain a better understanding of why expansion and change can have an impact on our economy. The second half of the talk by Saul was on business, I thought was very precise on the characteristics of entrepreneurship by identifying them has Mutaters that able to evolve and adapt regardless of the economical climate.
The second talk, entitled 21ST Century enlighten by Mathew Talyor, was very thought provoking has he mentioned that in order for anyone to understand themselves they need to understand the context of there situation, a very valid and relevant point. As I believe that identity that anyone forms is dependent on the environment they born into. However despite the talk being very engaging in the way it was presented it was also very generic rather than specific to any particular group of people.
