Having taught Etching for nearly 20 years I have always been fascinated by how students of the process learn, think and make. From the absolute beginner to the polished printer, I have seen students engage in this centuries-old process and continue to enthusiastically make etchings long after they have left college. What is it about the process that actively encourages this immersion in making? Do students of Etching/ printmaking learn differently? This film attempts to show how students think through making in the Etching Workshop at Camberwell College of Arts.
